I said to fear,
“You’re rather cute
I like your bling,
Your cut of boot.

“Your smile is fine,
Your eyes, divine
Let’s play around
Roll on the ground.”

I laughed with fear
“You’re not so bad!
You tell me things
I thought were sad.

“But now we’re friends
I know you’re true
I’m not afraid
Not like they said.”

Inspired after reading several Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chödrön books wherein they teach to confront and cradle fear, and mindful of Jesus advice, “Take no thought for your life.” I’ve found that running from my fears only makes them chase me faster.
